Mapfre EUROMED championships 2022

The Mapfre Euromed Championship is in its 22nd year and Malta Young Sailors Club is proud to organise this event, which in 2019 brought together more than 200 sailors from 25 countries to compete in this 4 day competition

WINTER SAILING IN THE HEART OF THE MEDITERRANEAN

Malta provides all year sailing and in December offers air temperatures of around 18C, the same as the temperature of the sea water around the island. This coupled with launching from a sandy beach and sailing in a large bay, provides an excellent, competitive location.

HOTEL, BOAT PARK AND LAUNCH ALL IN ONE AREA

The event takes place in the north of the island in a location called Mellieha Bay. This is Malta’s largest sandy beach and provides the boat storage as well as launch location. The Munchies Beach Lido offers both the location for the race office as well as availability of snacks and drinks. The regatta hotel is the Seabank Resort which is located a few meters from beach.
